Merry Christmas!

Everyone still sleeps but not for long I am sure. Tree sparkles with colourful lights and garland and still plenty of gifts for everyone. Surprised the kids didn't get up as soon as they heard me make coffee.

keeping it on the low down

This year we will try to be more lean at Christmas. First thing to go... ipods, cellphones and other electronics. I prefer anyway to get some gifts at least that are useful like socks and underwear. I have never gone wrong with socks and underwear, they always get used!

When asked what I would like for Christmas this year I reply "coffee mugs and lunch containers". They laugh about that but really... after all the mornings I have been digging through the cupboards only to find eight lids and one bottom  you would think it would be obvious what I wanted for Christmas. (Where do all the bottoms go anyway?) And all my mugs are either chipped or have disappeared. Probably after not making it back from a ride on the floor of my husbands car. :)

We are only exchanging homemade gifts (or no gifts) with David's family this year which is a bit of a relief. I still see things I want to buy for them but I have to stop myself. Better on my pocketbook at least. Instead I am thinking of putting a paper package together for each of them. I can always save a lot of cool stuff from the recycling at work. Hopefully they like it.

December Excitement

I felt a snap in the air tonight. Maybe some snow on the mountains tonight?? hmm... A little skiing would sure be nice. Still, my son wore his flip-flops when we went out this afternoon.

But really it's the Christmas season I am excited about. Even if I dislike all the commercialism I still feel warm and nostalgic thinking of christmas' past. For me and for the kids it's an important time to bond with the family. It's always fun.

Already changing my mind.

Cutting loose..

I am not going to use digiology anymore for my photosites. I will use my real name. As far as photosites go I will cut a few of those loose too. Cut, cut, cut to two or three. I need to spend more time working on my photos and less time checking on these non performing sites.

Rain rain go away...

Gotta shoot something but I am not feeling inspired lately. I have lots of photos to process but I get tired of cloning out minuscule logos that are barely visible in the first place.

Weather sucks so no shooting outdoors. I should take out my light kit and start taking pictures of all the junk in our house. There is certainly plenty of it.

sick sick sick

Looks like a stay home day. Coughing, aches, pain, fever.  Nobody feels good. Kids are not going to school today. Hopefully everyone feels better soon.

Ahhh...

...the fresh air. One night camp trip was invigorating.

edit: I still felt rested but actually we hardly slept. The sound of the river was too much for jm. No Zen from the rushing water all night - just a swap of urban noise for nature noise.

Camping this weekend???

Ahhh the fresh air! Only the sounds of the forest and rushing water from a small river. And night time with a cozy campfire. I really love to go camping.

Will the weather cooperate? That is the question. Summer is over and we didn't go camping once this year (yet). The forecast says 20 and sunny although its forever changing.

trashed skateboards...

A fun abstract experiment. They are posted to some stock sites and are starting to sell in Europe & the US. I would love to see how they were used.

Off to school...

The house is quiet. The kids are back to school and JM is back to work. Just me and the cat.

Where to begin...

My first blog. now what....
I took this pic on a grey and dreary summer day. I decided to put in a blue sky with fluffy clouds to make it more colourful and interesting. Now we will see if anyone buys it?!? Not sure how usefull a broken down barn with a torn roof is to anyone. But you never know....

....and the process was fun none the less.
